Today, home is not
just a flat or a house. It is a way of making a personal statement about
us and the world. Over time people have come to regard home as
a place that protects then from the elements and acts as a haven of rest
and solitude. However, once that has been established, the home becomes a
vehicle of personal expression. It is here that we expose aspects of
our personality. The way we look at our homes speaks volumes of us.
There are those who hoard things and have a lot of ’stuff’ in their
home, and then others who prefer minimalist living. This is all just
fine and problems only arise when two different characters live
together. Everyone needs to feel in control of his or her life. If there
is no compromise, one party ought to suffer and feel unhappy, which
might put any relationship in jeopardy in the long run.
